The MTV Video Music Awards 2024, popularly known as the VMA 2024, has been postponed. Initially scheduled to take place on September 10, the event will now be held on September 11. The awards show promises to be one of the biggest events of the year, with several artists already confirmed as performers.

An interesting fact is that Sabrina Carpenter, who performed at the VMA 2023 Pre-Show, will now take the main stage. It's worth noting that several artists have managed to boost their careers after performing at the event’s pre-show. Notable examples include Ariana Grande and Austin Mahone, who participated in the pre-show in 2013 and soon after rose to fame, with Ariana becoming one of the biggest artists today.

She’s the moment! American singer Sabrina Carpenter is on fire. On the 23rd of this month, she will release her highly anticipated new album, Short n' Sweet, and until then, the artist continues to break new records and achieve incredible milestones. The track "Espresso," which is part of the album's repertoire, has just surpassed 1 billion global streams on Spotify. This is Sabrina's first song to reach such a milestone. Also standing out is "Please Please Please," the second track from Short n' Sweet, which has already surpassed 500 million streams on the platform.

During the occasion, which included fans and Jack Antonoff, one of the album's producers, she took the opportunity to perform "Slim Pickins," an unreleased track from the project, further increasing fans' excitement.

This Wednesday (7th), the singer was nominated in six categories at the MTV VMAs, including "Artist of the Year," "Song of the Year" ("Espresso"), "Best Direction" (Please Please Please), "Best Pop," "Best Editing" ("Espresso"), and "Best Art Direction" ("Please Please Please"). Voting, which ends on August 30th, is open to the public through the award's official website, and the ceremony will be broadcast live on September 10th.


Besides "Espresso," "Please Please Please" has already become one of the album's hits. On the radio, the single, created in collaboration with GRAMMY®-winning collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, is approaching the Top 5 on the U.S. Top 40 charts, rising to the #6 position and nearing the Top 10 on U.S. radio overall. The track, described by Pitchfork as "currently in pole position to be this year's summer song," remains in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at #1), while "Espresso" is in the Top 5. In the UK, "Please Please Please" held the #1 spot for its fifth week, with Sabrina now totaling 12 weeks at #1 on the UK singles chart this year.


With a busy second half of the year, Sabrina Carpenter already has plans for 2025. She recently announced her European tour to celebrate the new album. Starting in March 2025, the singer will perform in several cities, including Paris, London, Amsterdam, and more.

The Brazilian BreakTudo Awards 2024, well-known in Latin America, has just opened voting for the first phase of one of its categories, "Best Reality Star."

 Popular names from Brazilian reality shows like Big Brother Brasil and A Fazenda have received nominations in this first phase. However, the spotlight extends beyond Brazil to nominees from Gran Hermano Argentina and La Casa de Los Famosos in the United States.

 Furia Scaglione, Martin Ku, Bauti Mascia, Zoe Bogach, and Constanza Romero are the nominees from Gran Hermano Argentina. From La Casa de Los Famosos, the nominees are Clovis Nienow and Maripily Rivera. Voting for the awards will end on May 3rd and is conducted exclusively on the official website.
